Program/Service Notes:
SERVICES OFFERED: This bureau of the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Division of Workforce Solutions, helps job seekers find employment, and employers recruit qualified job seekers.
Job Service also provides extensive labor market and occupational outlook information. Publications include wage surveys, occupational and industry projections, labor market planning information, and unemployment compensation figures. This information helps employers identify trends in their industry, and helps job seekers direct their job searches and training efforts.
There are programs which help individuals identify and market their vocational skills, abilities and interests, and refer them to appropriate educational and training programs as necessary.
It also provides job hotline numbers and website addresses for major area employers.
Other resources available to job seekers include:
* Resume Assistance: Develop a job-winning resume. Other job search assistance available by appointment.
* Internet Access: Computers allow job seekers to use the Internet in their job search.
* JobNet: www.dwd.state.wi.us/jobnet
* Computers/Printers: Computers with printers are available to do resumes, cover letters, etc.
* Civil Service Tests/Information: State Civil Service-type testing is available on request. State Civil Service Bulletins available for review.
Job Service works with other State or local agencies to administer and/or provide such services as:
* Veterans' Services
* Trade Adjustment Assistance Job Service provides equal service to all job seekers.
It also, however, is required to provide extra assistance to persons meeting special eligibility requirements, including veterans, Unemployment Compensation claimants, and migrant and seasonal farm workers.
