The children of low income workers without eye care health insurance can get free eye exams and a free pair of glasses through a program called VISION USA-The Wisconsin Project. Provide basic eye health and vision care services without charge. Children of low-income working families who have no other means of obtaining care.
To qualify for the free eye exam, patients must meet the following requirements: at least one parent or guardian of a child must be working, the child cannot have had an eye exam within the past 12 months, have no government or private health care insurance which covers eye care, and have a household income below levels established by the VISION USA board. Age 18 and under.
Each eligible child will receive a comprehensive eye examination without cost. Eyeglasses may be provided by participating eye doctors.
