DON'T THROW IT ALL AWAY! REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE AND COMPOST!
Items accepted:
Paints/Stains - latex, oil and lead base paints, varnishes, and other finishes
Solvents/Old Fuel - paint thinners, finish strippers, gas, diesel, kerosene
Pesticides/Mercury - including insecticides, herbicides, rodenticides, fumigants
Corrosive materials - such as acids and bases (such as drain cleaners)
Oxidizers - dry swimming pool chlorine and nitrate based fertilizers
Reactive materials - cyanides, sulfides, or metallic lithium and sodium
Wood preservatives - especially "penta" products.

Oneida County recycling rules:
ALUMINUM
Beer & pop cans only! Rinse & Crush. NO TINFOIL!

ANTIFREEZE
$.50 per gallon. Attendant will drain into on-site container.

CARDBOARD
Corrugated boxes and brown paper bags ONLY! Flatten & keep dry.

GLASS
Clear, Brown, & Green Jar/Bottle. Remove caps, rinse clean, and separate by color. NO WINDOW GLASS, LIGHTBULBS OR DISHES.

MAGAZINES
Magazines and catalogues. Keep dry.

MOTOR OIL
Engine, hydraulic, and gear oil. Drain into on-site container and throw used container away!

NEWSPAPER
Keep dry.

OFFICE PAPER
Envelopes, computer printouts, copy paper, paper junk mail, etc.

OIL FILTERS
Any vehicle oil filters. Bin located next to oil tank.

PLASTIC
Plastics (#1& #2 only) bottles and tubs. NO 5 Gallon pails. Remove all caps.

TIN CANS
Fruit, vegetable, and soup. Clean and remove labels, and flatten if possible.

BATTERIES-WET CELL
Car, truck, motorcycle, and snowmobile. Lead-acid type.

BATTERIES- DRY CELL
"A" – "D", etc. Alkaline batteries. Button (watch, calculator) Non-rechargeable. Accepted in scale office with a $1.00/lb charge.

BATTERIES-RECHARGEABLE
Power tools, "A"-"D" , Ni-Cad. Available at hardware stores. See list of stores below or accepted in scale office.


Aerosol cans - cans which contain any of the previously mentioned products
"Unknowns" - that jar or can of "something" which has been in the back shed or garage for twenty years
Items not accepted: ammunition, explosives, radioactives.
