Program/Service Notes:
The Utility Department monitors three community water systems, two in Stone Lake and one in Carter. The community systems are tested monthly for coliform bacteria and weekly for fluoride and chlorine levels. We also service the private wells of Tribal members on the reservation that do not have a community system available.


We also maintain two wastewater treatment plants. A re-circulating sand filter in Stone Lake and an aerated lagoon in Carter. The department also services the private septic systems on the reservation. The Utility Department plows, grades, repairs and maintains all Tribally owned roads. In the winter months, we plow the driveways of elders who live on the reservation. Our department also has a groundskeeper whose primarily responsible for the upkeep on the parks and the community cemeteries on the reservation. This person also takes care of the ballfields and the wayside that is located in Stone Lake. We also have a mechanic on staff who repairs and maintains all FCP vehicles.
