Program/Service Notes:
Power Hour -Monday – Friday from 3-5: Gives our members a chance to get help with their homework. Guidance is provided by BGC Staff and volunteers. Members receive points for completing assignments, doing extra credit work, reading, playing educational games, receiving good grades on their report card and for improving their grades, which they in turn use to purchase various prizes.

Snack- Mon-Fri 3-5, No School Days 11-1: Members receive a free, healthy, after school snack. Snack is generally is a sandwich, cereal, soup, etc. and fruit or other small item and choice of either juice or milk.

Girls Only PC Lab – Mondays 4:30-5:30 p.m.: Allows our female members the opportunity to have the computer lab all to themselves. This time will be moderated by a staff member and members will be allowed to check email and to go to appropriate chat rooms as well as play games and browse the internet.

Arts & Crafts –Tuesdays at 4 p.m.: various art projects each week. The artwork is displayed at the club and gives the youth a sense of belonging and pride.

Adventures in art- Saturday at 1 a.m. p.m.: Weekly art and craft projects instructed by staff, designed to stimulate our member’s minds and imaginations. The projects are designed so that all ages will be able to accomplish them.

Cooking: this program teaches members the basics in food preparation. This includes basic food safety tips, basic cooking terms, kitchen safety and the proper way to follow a recipe. They will be learning how to make fry bread this month.

Open Gym: Various sports in the gym such as, kickball, dodge ball, flag football, basketball & volleyball.
Member’s Choice – The members choose what activity they would like to do.

Breakers: Members compete weekly in eight ball pool against other youth. Results are tallied and at the end of the league prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers.

Teen Night- Every Wednesday – Friday: the club closes at 7pm but will be open for teen’s only grades 6-12 from 7pm-9pm.

Jr. Staff: Jr. Staff meets at 4:30 p.m. on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month. Junior Staff Career Development is a comprehensive, small-group program that assists Club members ages 11-18 in exploring a career in youth or human services, particularly Boys & Girls Club work. Through hands-on experiences with helping others in the Club and community, field trips to other service organizations and one-on-one guidance from Club staff, youth prepare for a future role as a human services professional or volunteer leader in their community.

Torch Club: Meets every Thursday at 4:30 p.m. This small-group leadership development program, sponsored by Staples, is targeted to youth ages 11 to 13. Within some 700 Torch Clubs across the country, members elect officers and plan and implement their own activities and community service projects. Each Torch Club receives an official charter from Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Wii Bowling League: Ran much like a real bowling league but played on the Nintendo Wii. Each week members will bowl 3 games if they are not at the Club to bowl on Thursday they have until the next week to make up their games. The leader at the end of each month receives an award.

Boys Drum Group: Meets every Tuesday & Thursday at 6 p.m. This program is run by Robert VanZile Jr. and Myron Pyawasit. The boys start by making their own drumsticks, and then they will learn how to drum different songs and eventually start singing the songs.

Keystone Club: is the Boys & Girls Club Movement’s most dynamic teen program. Keystone Club meets weekly Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. Keystone Clubs are chartered leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 14-18. Keystoners elect officers and implement activities in six areas: service to Club and community, character and leadership development, education and career exploration, unity, free enterprise and social recreation.

Cultural Activities: Meets every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. It entials, story telling, language lessons, native arts & crafts and much more!
